Laura Barbier is a Communications and Research Assistant at the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce. She assists the Director of Strategic Planning and Communications and the Communications and Creative Specialist with various strategic communication tasks including Hispanic outreach, social media management, communications strategy and media monitoring.
Laura is a graduate student at Georgetown University in their Public Relations and Corporate Communications program focusing on digital and integrated marketing communications. She received her B.A in Political Science with concentrations in journalism and international relations from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia.
Prior to joining the center, Laura served as a social media and media assistant at Dieste, a Hispanic advertising company. While in Colombia, she worked in a media analysis agency, as well as in a political communications agency. She thinks of communication as the first step to pursuit a change in the world.
